Fasten your seatbelts, Uganda! Uganda Airlines is taking off on an exciting new journey, adding a whopping eight new destinations to its network, bringing the total to a delightful 16! This expansion marks the second phase of the airline's ambitious development plan, and it's all about making travel more affordable and accessible for Ugandans, both for business ventures and unforgettable leisure trips.
his isn't just a pitstop, it's a runway to the future. The new routes pave the way for the final phase, where Uganda Airlines will set its sights on gracing European and Asian skies. But for now, let's celebrate the expansion to these exciting new destinations: Lusaka, Abuja, and Harare!
These additions join the existing roster of popular destinations like Bujumbura, Dar es Salaam, Dubai, Johannesburg, and many more. With 16 options to choose from, planning your dream vacation or that crucial business meeting just got a whole lot easier.
But the benefits go beyond convenience. As CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki explains, "Entering these markets is a strategic move to build a strong regional network. This will, in turn, feed and finance even more profitable long-haul routes as we expand our fleet." It's a win-win situation for the airline and Ugandan travelers alike.
Uganda Airlines Chief Commercial Officer, Adedayo Olawuyi, is confident about the future. He projects that "the addition of these three new routes will bring in a 10% revenue increase." But here's the kicker: Uganda Airlines isn't just focused on passengers. Cargo is also a key player in making these routes profitable for the national carrier.
