Minister Ncube champions MSMEs at ZB Midlands expo

The Midlands Province is poised for economic growth, spurred on by the burgeoning Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector, according to Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon. Owen Ncube.

The Minister delivered these remarks at the ZB Midlands MSMEs Expo held in Gweru on July 27, 2024.

 The expo, themed "Accelerating SMEs growth through Financial Partnerships," brought together entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and government officials to explore strategies for boosting the MSME sector. Minister Ncube commended ZB Financial Holdings for their initiative in supporting MSMEs through financial solutions and creating a platform for growth.

 

Highlighting the government's commitment to MSME development,

  the Minister emphasized the introduction of measures such as the new Zimbabwe Gold  currency to create a stable business environment for entrepreneurs. He also urged MSMEs to formalize their businesses to access various benefits, including credit, government support, and market opportunities.

 The Minister expressed optimism about the potential of Midlands Province's MSMEs, noting the innovative and competitive products showcased at the expo. He called for increased collaboration between MSMEs, financial institutions, and the government to unlock the full potential of the sector and drive economic prosperity.

 ZB Financial Holdings' support for the MSME sector through initiatives like the expo was lauded by the Minister, who encouraged other financial institutions to follow suit. The event provided a platform for MSMEs to network, access funding, and learn about business development strategies.

 As the country strives to achieve Vision 2030, the Minister emphasized the crucial role of MSMEs in driving economic growth and job creation. He called upon entrepreneurs to take advantage of the available support and resources to scale their businesses and contribute to the nation's development.
