By invitation of the Zimbabwe Future Foundation International-Association, on July 25, the 21st China medical team drove to Seke community in Mashonaland East Province to provide free medical services.
Local villagers waited for the arrival of the medical team early on the road. The Zimbabwe Future Foundation International-Association provides vulnerable children with food and basic education.
The children learn in a makeshift school and have limited access to medical services.
The China medical team arrived at 8:00 to the welcome of children holding signs with “We love China”. The Children then performed the Chinese song “Two Tigers”.
As Zimbabwe is currently in the peak flu season, Dr. Xu Jing, Deputy Director of the Emergency Department of Hunan Provincial People’s Hospital, spoke on “How to Prevent Influenza”.
Dr. Hu Sha from the China-Zimbabwe Traditional Chinese Medicine Center together with Charlotte, a local student of the center, taught the traditional Chinese fitness Qigong “Baduanjin”.
After that, the medical team provided examination and multidisciplinary consultation for some complex cases on the spot.
The team also set up a TCM acupuncture center on the spot, so that the villagers could experience the miraculous effect of TCM without leaving home.
Working in the sun for more than five hours, the medical team provided free medical services to more than 300 people.On the same day, Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe also donated food including cooking oil and other daily necessities to the needy in the community.
President of Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe, Mr. Song Zhuolin, said that the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe organizes several charitable donation activities in Zimbabwe every year, and does its best to benefit the local people.
Zimbabwe Future Foundation International-Association head Mr. Michael said: “The China medical team came to our community from afar to provide free and high-quality medical service. Thank you very much for the contribution made by the Chinese medical team to the medical and health cause of Zimbabwe. We also thank the Hunan Chamber of Commerce in Zimbabwe for the many materials donated to us. We believe that with the joint efforts of all parties, we will certainly have a positive impact on the poor villagers and children in Zimbabwe. May the friendship between China and Zimbabwe last forever.”
