A teen cattle thief will live to rue answering the call of nature after he was grabbed by a cattle owner who was trailing the gang that had stolen two of his beasts.
Peter Tom, 15, and another teen, Wellington Fakamari, 18 were arrested in Nyabira after an alert farmer tracked the gang.
Police reported that On August 11, around ten in the morning, Panganai Chibvongodze of Sandhusrt Farm, Nyabira saw Tom and Fakamari Tom choose and drive off two of his cattle from the herd that was grazing in a paddock.
Chibvongodze trailed the pair until Tom stopped to relive himself. Chibvongodze pounced on the teen and effected a citizen’s arrest.
The pair followed Wellington Fakamari for 10 kilometres up to Plot 41 Little England Farm.
Chibvongodze then alerted ZRP Nyabira who moved in to arrest Tom, Fakamari and three others namely Tarisai Dube, 35, Tafirenyika Burira, 47, Tension Mutetwa, 21, and Felix Mubaiwa 28.
One beast had already been slaughtered.
