Ken Sharpe to speak at BigBusiness Africa Conference 2024

Two top Zimbabwean businessmen, WestProp Holdings chief Ken Sharpe and Zimbuild’s Tinashe Manzungu are billed to speak among a stellar cast of others at the Africa Business Conference 2024 set for Johannesburg, South Africa in October. .

A brainchild of BigBusiness Africa, the conference slated for October 16-17 this year has also attracted several speakers from regional countries such as South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Zambia, Lesotho and others from the diaspora, including the United States of America and the United Kingdom.

In a press release, BigBusiness Africa chief executive officer, Stephene Chikozho said the objective of the conference is to have discussions aimed at assisting industry leaders and entrepreneurs to “Define the New Era” of doing business in Africa.

“The ability to move from idea generation to strategy formulation, and follow it up with crystal clear execution is a recipe for local, regional and global business success. We believe in using ideas to spark conversations that lead to cross-border collaboration and economic growth,” said Chikozho.

Chikozho added that BigBusiness Africa Conference 2024 promised informative, uplifting and thought-provoking discussions aimed at solving the continent’s challenges while building big businesses in Africa.

The organisation’s Board president, Pandora Mabai, said BigBusiness Africa is keen on fostering business growth, collaboration and innovation across the continent.

“We see ourselves as agents of change that are focused on building a thriving ecosystem for businesses on the continent’s dynamic business environment, emerging markets and innovative entrepreneurial spirit.

“We have put together dynamic industry leaders to share their insights and engage the delegates in robust discussions on a broad range of issues and industry sectors,” Mabai said.

Issues up for discussion at the conference include some of the pertinent challenges facing Africa today, including urbanisation and the need for adequate affordable housing solutions in smart cities, delivering appropriate services such as health care and education as well as energy security and building a stable, robust technology infrastructure able to support the digital economy and economic growth.

BigBusiness Africa expects to bring together over 1 000 business leaders, industry experts, policy makers, entrepreneurs from across the continent and the diaspora, eager to gain knowledge from thought leaders in a programme that will include discussions and Master Classes on challenges in a variety of industry sectors, including agriculture, built environment and infrastructure, creative sectors and sport.

The other sectors are education and leadership development, energy, financial services and digital currencies, health, beauty and pharmaceuticals, logistics and transport, mining and beneficiation, telecommunications, technology and artificial intelligence, trading and services.
