Mberengwa district has demonstrated remarkable agricultural progress with the successful cultivation of 204 hectares of wheat during the 2023/24 season. This achievement is a testament to the collaborative efforts of two community gardens, five individual farms, and the strategic utilization of irrigation resources.

Despite the challenges posed by climate variability, the district's farmers have managed to optimize their wheat yields through effective irrigation practices. This success not only contributes to local food production but also plays a vital role in bolstering national grain supplies.

The government officials have commended the district for its achievements, emphasizing the significance of wheat cultivation in promoting food security and economic growth. The successful implementation of the PIP (Permaculture Intervention Program) in Mberengwa serves as a model for other districts aspiring to enhance their agricultural output and adopt sustainable farming practices.
