The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange has warned the public of a fake crypto currency called “NdeipiCoin” being advartised on social media platforms.

VFEX chief executive officer, Justin Bgoni said the individuals are using VFEX’s name acronyms and branding elements to deceive unsuspecting investing public.

“It has come to our attention that some individuals using social media handles “NdeipiCoin” on the following social media platforms: LinkedIn X, Facebook, TikTok and Instagram, are advertising a cryptocurrency called “NdeipiCoin”, and falsely creating an impression that it is listed or affiliated with the VFEX.

“No application has been received from NdeipiCoin for the coin’s listing and it is not listed as a security on the VFEX.”

VFEX has advised investors to seek financial advice from licensed stockbrokers and investment advisors before making investment decisions.

“The VFEX will not be held liable for any damages resulting from using referencing, or relying on information related to this product. Please be aware that investing in “NdeipiCoin” is done at your own risk,” Bgoni added.

Zim Now recently reported on scammers who have cloned government ministers’ Facebook accounts inviting people to join an apparently lucrative government backed investment forum with weekly profit pay outs.
