Fossil Contracting has confirmed that it will start work on Lorraine Drive in Bluffhill next week.
"This serves to notify the public and stakeholders that Fossil Contracting will commence works on Lorraine Drive from 16 September 2024 to December 2024 as contracted by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development. Fossil Contracting apologises for the inconvenience caused during the construction of Lorraine Drive," the company announced in a statement.
This comes as the newly done road developed depressions soon after commissioning.
Transport and Infrastructural Development Permanent Secretary Engineer Joy Makumbe said government issued a directive for the job to be redone.
"Fossil will begin the reconstruction process on 16 September 2024," said Eng. Makumbe.
Eng Makumbe also hinted that the materials used were substandard.
Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Felix Mhona is on record as saying the government would not pay for substandard work as that done on Lorraine Drive.
