A 24-year-old man, Tawanda Chinyati was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment for murdering his cousin over sadza.
He appeared before the High Court in Gweru for judgement.
The allegations states that on February 24, 2024, Tawanda and his cousin were ordered to share a plate of sadza, however, the now deceased refused to share.
Upon finishing his plate of meal, the now deceased joined Tawanda and the other three.
An argument arose between Tawanda and his cousin. Tawanda was slapped once on the face by his cousin.
Tawanda walked away and returned with a flick knife which he used to stab his cousin once on the chest before fleeing the scene.
The deceased was taken to Shurungwi District Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The authority has encouraged members of the public to desist from violence and resolve their disputes amicably or seek third party mediation.
