Sources within the Northern Region have revealed that Norton FC used players who were not registered with the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA), a clear violation of league regulations. This has led to calls for the team's expulsion from the league.
Further allegations suggest that senior Norton FC players received USD$50 from MWOS as a motivational token to win against Scotland FC. This has raised concerns about match-fixing and corruption within the league.
In response to the allegations, Norton FC has launched an internal investigation to determine the facts surrounding the match. A social media post circulating online confirms the investigation.
The Northern Region Soccer League has taken swift action, writing to Norton Community Football Club to demand clarification on the allegations.
