An 18-year-old woman from Chitungwiza was found guilty forging her Zimbabwe School Examinations Council results. Shamiso Pretty Bvukure appeared before a Harare magistrate, facing charges under the Zimbabwe Examination Act.

The court heard that in October, the Police General Headquarters requested verification of ZIMSEC results for several job applicants, including Bvukure. Upon inspection, it was discovered that her results slip had been tampered with. Mathematics was upgraded from a U to a C, English Language from a U to a B, Shona Language from an E to an A, and History from a U to an A. Furthermore, subjects like Combined Science and Commerce, which she had not initially taken, were added to the slip.

Bvukure was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment. However, six months of the sentence were suspended for five years on the condition that she does not commit a similar offense. The remaining six months were also suspended, provided she completes 210 hours of community service.
