Recently, the 21st China Medical Team at the invitation of DinSon Steel Co, Ltd, went to the remote mountainous areas of Midlands Province, Zimbabwe, to provide free medical services for the Chinese and Zimbabwean employees of DinSon Steel Co, Ltd as well as the surrounding community residents, bringing warmth and health to the local villagers.
The medical mission first took place at the DinSon Steel plant. After a four-hour drive, the China medical team, quickly prepared and began providing services to the employees, including medicine donation, traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture treatment, blood pressure and blood sugar measurement, electrocardiogram examination, professional health consultation, and multi-disciplinary diagnosis and treatment. A long queue formed as employees sought treatment. The team members, with their rich clinical experience and responsible attitude, effectively relieved their pain and worries, earning unanimous recognition and praise.
The next day, the medical team drove to the Manhize Nyikavanhu clinic in the Chirumhanzu District of the community. Local residents, aware of the upcoming free medical services, arrived early with their families. The medical team, well-prepared, collaborated with three local nurses to conduct health education on common diseases such as malaria, HIV/AIDS, and first aid for trauma. Subsequently, despite the limited space and crowded conditions, the team provided free medical, surgical, and traditional Chinese medicine services to over 400 local residents.
Annah, the clinic manager, commented: “The local medical conditions are backward and transportation is inconvenient, making it difficult for many impoverished villagers to receive treatment. The free medical services provided by the China medical team have greatly alleviated their plight. Additionally, your efficient and high-quality service for so many patients is truly commendable. We hope that Chinese doctor can provide long-term assistance and guidance to us!”
