Old Mutual head of group of marketing public affairs and sustainability Lillian Mbayiwa was on Friday elected president of the Marketers Association of Zimbabwe.
Mbayiwa replaces Professor Zororo Muranda.
Mbayiwa has held a number of impressive positions including Old Mutual as the group marketing executive, marketing strategy and planning, area head of corporate affairs in Southern Africa for Standard Chartered Bank and group head marketing and corporate relations for United Bank of Africa.
She holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Warwick, Bachelor of Arts in Media Communications from Framingham State University and a Management of Advanced Programme from Wits Business School.
Marketers Association of Zimbabwe is a membership driven body whose major mandate is to uplift the marketing profession.
It was established in 2007 after the realisation that marketing as a profession in Zimbabwe was not being given the recognition it deserves.
