Officials from Harare Poly during the virtual MOA signing ceremony

The Harare Polytechnic and Ningbo Polytechnic of China recently signed a Memorandum of Association to help local students acquire cutting-edge technological knowledge and enhance their practical skills.

“The programme which will officially start in January 2023 will see some students travelling to Ningbo Polytechnic for a hands-on training in Mechatronics,” said a source at Harare Poly who said they are not authorized to speak on behalf of the institution.

The virtual signing ceremony for the agreement was held in the past week.

The agreement falls under the Applied Talent Joint Teaching Programme under Collaboration of the "China-Africa Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) cooperative programmes (2022 to 2026).

“The sets the stage for future collaborations in education, technology and culture transfer programmes and facilitate cross-pollination of ideas between the two institutions,” said the source.

The MOA comes out of four way relationship between Harare Polytechnic, Ningbo Polytechnic, the Association of Technical Universities and Polytechnics in Africa and the China Education Association for International Exchange.
