Zimbabwe and India are strengthening their economic ties, with Indian investments in the private sector exceeding US$600 million. This significant milestone reflects the success of Zimbabwe's "Open for Business" mantra and underscores the growing partnership between the two countries

The two nations have enjoyed a strong relationship since before Zimbabwe's independence. Today, over 25 Indian firms operate in Zimbabwe, employing thousands of people directly and indirectly. Indian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Bramha Kumar, celebrated the ties between the two countries, saying, "Zimbabwe is a valued partner... Indian investment from the private sector is reaching new heights."

As Zimbabwe continues to implement its economic diplomacy thrust, the country is poised to benefit from increased trade and investment with India. With the rehabilitation of the Hwange Units 1 to 6 Power Stations underway, Zimbabwe's national power grid is expected to receive a significant boost of 400MW.

The growing partnership between Zimbabwe and India is a testament to the strength of their bilateral relationship. As the two nations continue to work together, the future of their economic cooperation looks brighter than ever.
