In a landmark event, the Action for Empowerment Zimbabwe officially launched the Zim-Israel Connect platform, a strategic initiative aimed at fostering collaboration between Zimbabwe and Israel.
The platform will facilitate religious and spiritual exchanges, coordinate pilgrimage and cultural tours, and establish the Zim-Israel Chamber of Commerce to enhance bilateral business and investment opportunities.
Speaking at the launch, the AEZ President Alson Darikayi highlighted the organization’s journey and its dedication to economic empowerment in Zimbabwe. AEZ has been at the forefront of initiatives promoting business opportunities, funding access, and national resource utilization, impacting thousands of lives through training and business development programs.
The event underscored the longstanding historical relationship between Zimbabwe and Israel, dating back to the pre-independence era when Israel provided significant support to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle. Over the years, the two nations have continued to strengthen their bond through cooperation in agriculture, technology, and trade.
A key highlight of the initiative is the deep spiritual connection between the two countries. Many Zimbabweans share a strong affinity for the Hebrew Bible and the State of Israel, making religious tourism a significant aspect of the platform. The Zim-Israel Connect initiative will facilitate spiritual journeys to the Holy Land while also promoting Zimbabwe as a tourism destination for Israeli and international visitors.
H.E. Ambassador Ronny Levi Musan, Head of Consulate for Zimbabwe in Israel, was recognized as a key partner in the initiative. His longstanding business relationship with the AEZ President, spanning nearly 15 years, has contributed to several successful investment projects across diverse sectors, including tourism, information technology, education, and mining.
Beyond cultural and religious exchanges, the Zim-Israel Connect platform aims to unlock investment opportunities in critical economic sectors such as agriculture, mining, infrastructure development, and technology. The Zim-Israel Chamber of Commerce will play a pivotal role in facilitating trade and investment between the two nations, leveraging Israeli technological expertise and Zimbabwe’s abundant natural resources and skilled workforce.
The AEZ President called on religious groups, businesses, and government representatives to take advantage of this platform, emphasizing the potential for mutual economic growth, job creation, and improved livelihoods. The initiative is expected to enhance people-to-people exchanges, strengthen diplomatic ties, and promote peace and prosperity between Zimbabwe and Israel.
As the platform is launched, both nations look forward to a new era of cooperation that celebrates their shared history, deepens their spiritual and economic connections, and fosters a future of collaboration and mutual benefit.
