Highlanders' journey to Chisumbanje for their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter against Green Fuel is fraught with uncertainty, as an injury crisis threatens to derail their momentum. Coach Kelvin Kaindu is anxiously awaiting the results of late fitness tests, hoping his limping players can recover in time for tomorrow's crucial match.

Kaindu remained tight-lipped about the extent of the injuries and the players affected, opting for strategic confidentiality. "In terms of our logistics and preparations, so far so good. We just hope that some of our players that were on the injury list and those that picked up minor knocks from the last game will be able to be fit for the game that we are playing on Saturday (tomorrow)," he stated. "On the players, sometimes it becomes a bit difficult for us as coaches to review exactly those that have picked up knocks. Sometimes we try to keep it confidential so that we may protect one or two individuals."

Despite the concerns, Kaindu expressed optimism that some players would be available for selection after undergoing light training. "Some are doing light training and we just hope that today (yesterday) as we do our last training session, they will be available for selection," the Zambian coach revealed.

Highlanders received a significant boost earlier in the week when FIFA lifted their transfer ban, imposed due to unpaid dues to former coach Baltemar Britto and his assistant Antonio Torres. "On the Fifa ban, I am sure the club has issued a statement about the situation. If there are any other developments, I am sure the club will definitely give us an update," Kaindu said, deflecting further comment on the matter.

Highlanders' season began with a disappointing 1-0 loss to league debutants MWOS FC, but they rebounded with a resounding 4-0 victory over Kwekwe United at Barbourfields Stadium. Now, they face a Green Fuel side hungry for their first win of the season.

Green Fuel, under the guidance of Taurai Mangwiro, are determined to secure three points after a draw against Caps United and a loss to Ngezi Platinum. "It's been a mixed bag for us. We drew and lost our last league match, but it's early days," Mangwiro acknowledged. "We are looking forward to the league match against Bosso and we are hoping to get a positive result."

Mangwiro dismissed any intimidation from Highlanders' recent victory. "We are not fazed by Highlanders victory in their last league match, they earned it. It's a new game, new challenge. We have a proud record at home we will fight hard," he asserted. "We hope that we will maintain our good record as we did not lose a single match at home last season. I am hoping that the team will deliver."

Green Fuel enters the match with a full squad, free from injuries and suspensions. "We have a full squad we are injury and suspension free," Mangwiro confirmed. He urged supporters to rally behind the team, emphasizing their crucial role in securing a positive result. "We urge our supporters to come out in their numbers as they play a critical role in rallying behind the team as we seek our first set of three points."

As Highlanders grapple with their injury woes, Green Fuel is poised to capitalize on their home advantage, setting the stage for a tense and competitive clash in Chisumbanje.
