African Extracts Pvt. Ltd has established a nicotine extraction plant in Zimbabwe, marking a milestone in the nation’s economic progress.
The new facility is designed to transform tobacco waste into high-value products such as crude nicotine, organic fertilizers, and various agricultural inputs. This forward-thinking approach promotes value addition, industrial development, and sustainable practices.
Sunny Methi, the CEO of African Extracts Pvt. Ltd, highlighted the far-reaching benefits the plant will bring to Zimbabwe and the broader region.
“As Africa’s largest nicotine extraction facility, this project is poised to be a flagship venture for Zimbabwe’s industrialization and economic growth. Our commitment to sustainable development and value addition shines a light on the promising economic future of our nation,” he stated.
The establishment of the facility is set to generate numerous employment opportunities, thereby improving livelihoods and addressing unemployment issues. The production of nicotine and related products is expected to enhance Zimbabwe’s export revenues, contributing positively to the national economy.
Moreover, the introduction of innovative processing techniques will facilitate technology transfer, bolstering local skills and capacities in advanced manufacturing processes.
