Many watchers are expecting Zanu-PF to win all three wards where by-elections are being held. Several analysts pointed out that traditionally, the party is better at mobilizing voters for by-elections and that the opposition is currently disorganized and therefore does not offer any credible challenge.
Voters in Chikomba Ward 10, Marondera Ward 6, and Chiredzi Ward 4 are heading to the polls today in local authority by-elections.
The seats fell vacant due to a mix of resignations and recalls. The Marondera and Chikomba vacancies follow recalls by the opposition CCC party under internal disputes, while Chiredzi Ward 4 became vacant after the resignation of the sitting councillor.
