Bus ploughs into yard, kills 3 on the spot

An Inter Africa bus that was reportedly speeding hit three people, killing them instantly at Madondo Village under Chief Nhema in Zaka yesterday.

The accident occurred along the Zaka-Makuvaza road.

Witnesses said that the speeding bus veered off the road and ploughed into a yard at Madondo Village before hitting three people, killing them on the spot.

This accident occurred as police said at least 92 people died in road traffic accidents from 15 to 26 December 2022 up from 72 in the same period under review in 2021.

On Unity Day, a total of 107 road traffic accidents were recorded countrywide, and three of the accidents were fatal.

In 2021, 144 road traffic accidents were recorded, with seven being fatal, killing 10 people while 26 others were injured.

On Christmas Day, a total of 119 road traffic accidents were recorded countrywide, 10 of which were fatal, killing 13 people and injuring 89.
