Chegutu Pirates midfielder Arthur Sibanda is on the verge of completing a move to Botswana’s Tonota FC, with the club reportedly keen to secure him on a permanent contract.
Although Sibanda has been loaned out for a year, sources close to the negotiations say Tonota FC is already laying the groundwork for a long-term agreement.
Speaking to Zim Now, insiders revealed that Tonota’s technical team has been impressed by the young midfielder’s potential.

“The Tonota club is interested in the young star and willing to sign him permanently after he has been loaned for one year,” the source said.
The move marks a major milestone in Sibanda’s rising career. He began his football journey at Pams Academy before joining Shabanie Mine, where he spent one season.
His standout performances later earned him a place at Chegutu Pirates, who have now facilitated his loan move to Botswana — a switch that could open significant opportunities for the promising midfielder.
If the permanent deal materialises, Sibanda will join a growing number of Zimbabwean players making an impact in regional leagues, with hopes that exposure in Botswana will further refine his skills and elevate his professional prospects.
