Former Criminal Investigations Department officer, Jaison Muvhevhi, who shot and killed three people in Wedza on Friday afternoon has been arrested this morning after crossing into Mozambique.
Among the people that Muvhevhi, who is understood to be a gold dealer, killed are an apostolic sect prophet whom he shot dead as he was preaching in front of congregants, the Officer-in-Charge of Wedza Police Station, Inspector Maxwell Hove and a male bartender at Mukamba Business Centre.
He also seriously injured another police officer who was part of the reaction group that wanted to apprehend him.
Muvhevhi was arrested in Manica Province by Mozambican police, who were working with the Zimbabwe Republic Police, a few minutes after crossing into the country.
Sources close to the investigations have confirmed the arrests and efforts are being made to bring him back into the country.
A team of officers have since been deployed to the neighbouring country.
