The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has appointed Mr Richard Tendayi Rukwata as
its substantive Director-General.
MCAZ Authority Chairperson Dr Misheck Chiware confirmed the development in a statement.
Mr Rukwata holds qualifications in Law and Business Administration.
He is a registered pharmacist with 25 years of experience in health care management, regulation of
medicines and medical devices, strategic planning and execution, as well as good manufacturing
practices of medicines.
Before being appointment as Substantive Director, Mr Rukwata was the substantive Head of the
Licensing and Enforcement Division of the MCAZ and Acting Director of the Authority.
