Zimbabwe Women will host South Africa Women in a historic five-match T20 International series at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo in September, with the matches scheduled for September 11, 13, 15, 17 and 19.
The tour will mark the first time the senior South Africa Women’s team has visited Zimbabwe, making it a landmark occasion for women’s cricket in the region. It also represents another significant step in Zimbabwe Women’s efforts to gain more exposure against top-tier international opposition.
Zimbabwe Women last played a home series in September and October 2025 when they hosted the United Arab Emirates Women at Queens Sports Club. Since then, the team has been on the road, undertaking challenging tours of New Zealand and Pakistan.
While Zimbabwe Women have previously faced South Africa Women’s Emerging side on several occasions, the two national teams have met only twice at senior level, during an ODI quadrangular series in Potchefstroom, South Africa, in 2017.
The upcoming series comes at an important stage in Zimbabwe Women’s rebuilding process following a disappointing outing at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier held in Nepal earlier this year.
