235 Dead as Search for Venezuela Quake Survivors Intensifies

International rescue teams have intensified efforts to locate survivors in Venezuela after two powerful earthquakes struck the country on Wednesday, leaving hundreds of people trapped beneath collapsed buildings.

AFP reports that rescue personnel and humanitarian aid continue to pour in from across the Americas, with Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Cuba, the United States and the United Nations deploying emergency response teams and relief supplies.

As search operations continue, hospitals remain overwhelmed by the influx of injured victims. Authorities on Friday raised the death toll to 235 as emergency crews race against time to find survivors still trapped beneath the rubble.
