Former Zimbabwe national women’s cricket bowler Sarah Dambanevana became the first Zimbabwean female cricket umpire to officiate in a major final.
Dambanevana stood in the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup between India and England at the JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom, South Africa yesterday.
Last year, she made history when she became the first local female to officiate in a domestic final during last season’s Fifty50 Challenge.
Seven months later in October, she again made history as first female to stand in a men's List A match when Rhinos and Eagles played Kwekwe Sports Club - Zimbabwe Women Cricket
