A Chitungwiza woman has appeared in court for allegedly defrauding her employer, Glidwell Trading t/a Bhola Supermarket in Belvedere, of US$9 806.44 by generating fake change vouchers.
Trish Mare appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court facing fraud allegations.
The State was represented by prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawu.
The court heard that Mare was employed by Glidwell Trading t/a Bhola Supermarket as a till operator between July 1 and September 15, 2026.

During the period, she allegedly generated change vouchers in the supermarket’s system, making it appear that swipe transactions had been made to purchase goods.
She allegedly later redeemed the vouchers and took the cash, resulting in a total loss of US$9 806.44.
The alleged offence was discovered during internal checks at the supermarket, leading to her arrest.
Mare was remanded to October 10, 2026.
