Zimbabwe School Examinations Council has released the 2022 Ordinary Level results which will be accessed through the organisation’s online portal starting 1500hrs Friday, February 3.
The board said attempting to enter before 1500 hours will cause unnecessary congestion.
“Please follow the instructions and execute them correctly. Two people CANNOT create 2 separate accounts for the same candidate. Once registration into the portal is done, those credentials are the only ones that can access the results. Any attempt to breach will cause the account to be blocked,” reads the notice.
The board said the 2022 Ordinary Level pass rate increased by 2.62 percent and the overall pass rate is 28.96% compared to 26.34% recorded in 2021.
ZIMSEC said a total of 278 760 candidates sat for November 2022 “O” Level examinations, 183 584 wrote five and above subjects and 53 169 passed five or more subjects.
However, credibility of school examinations in the country has been questionable following reports that 590 people were arrested over examination paper leaks.
Last month, the Amalgamated Rural Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe demanded the nullification of the November 2022 Ordinary and Advanced Level Zimbabwe School Examinations Council examinations after 590 candidates were caught cheating while sitting for the examinations.
ZIMSEC told Parliament last year that about 590 suspects were caught cheating while sitting for November 2022 “O” and “A” Level final examinations.
Government localised public school examinations in the late 1990s after scrapping the Cambridge examination system.
Some of the teachers’ unions had suggested that the 2022 examinations should be nullified as this affected Ordinary and Advanced Level 2022 ZIMSEC examinations
