Electrocution sells off copper cables thief

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has arrested and convicted a 25-year old man for theft of copper cables which occurred in Chimhanda area, Rushinga, Mt Darwin between January and February this year.

The matter came to light when the suspect, Tinashe Tatenda Ndoreka was electrocuted and sought medical attention.

Some of copper cables were recovered from the suspect’s disused toilet and 16-metre squared 4-core armoured cable was recovered from a local dam.

The suspect has since been convicted and sentenced to an effective 20-year jail term.

Meanwhile, on February 9, 2023, police in Mbare, Harare arrested thirteen suspects for being found in possession of skin lightening and other various substances without licences.

Police seized a load of the recovered drugs.
