Rwandese President Paul Kagame is scheduled to attend the 6th edition of Transform Africa Summit in Zimbabwe at the end of April.
Kagame’s office said the Rwandese President will be part of the three-day summit set for April 26 to 28, as the Chairman of Smart Africa, the organisers of the summit.
The Transform Africa Summit is the leading Africa tech and digital event which gathers on average 5 000 delegates from more than 100 countries to explore the digital transformation of the continent across multiple sectors.
Running under the theme, “Connect, Transform and Innovate,” with a special focus on regulation and policy, digital infrastructure financing, capacity building and skills development, and digital continental trade, the summit is taking place outside Rwanda for the first time.
The 2019 edition, which was meant to dwell on job creation and emergence of enterprises, was postponed owing to Covid-19 restrictions that had set in.
Rwanda’s ICT and Innovation Minister, Paula Ingabire is among Rwandans confirmed to speak at the summit so far.
The Transform Africa Summit affords delegates an opportunity for meaningful engagements on how governments can attract large-scale investments and enable fast growth and exports.
It also aims at having the private sector thrive in an innovation and ICT-driven entrepreneurship ecosystem.
