3 Foreign Nationals Killed, 15 Injured in Harare-Chirundu Road Bus Crash

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on 30/03/2025, at approximately 1650 hours, along the 165-kilometer peg on the Harare-Chirundu Road.

The accident involved a bus from Malawi, carrying 119 passengers, which veered off the road and overturned, landing on its left side.

The unfortunate incident resulted in the loss of three lives, while 15 other passengers were injured.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus driver, to avoid a collision with a breakdown recovery truck towing another truck that had been involved in a separate road accident, lost control of the vehicle, leading to the tragic accident.

The injured passengers are currently receiving medical attention at nearby health facilities. The road remains closed as investigations continue.
