Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA) has hiked toll fees in local currency with effect from March 20, 2023.
In a notice, ZINARA said the toll fees in local currency will apply in terms of Section 4 of Statutory Instrument 32 of 2021, which stipulate that toll fees which are pegged in foreign currency are payable in Zimbabwean dollars at the prevailing foreign currency auction rate.
Light motor vehicles toll fees were hiked from ZWL$1 600 to ZWL$1 900, minibuses from ZWL$$2 400 to ZWL$2 850, buses from ZWL$3 200 to ZWL$3800, heavy vehicles from ZWL$4 000 to ZWL$4 750 and haulage trucks from ZWL$8 000 ZWL$9 500.
ZINARA said residential discount per term is now ZWL$38 000 from ZWL$32 000 for those that stay near tollgates.
The authority said toll fees in foreign currency remain unchanged. Toll fees were last reviewed in February 2023.
