Zim names team for SA junior swimming championships

The Zimbabwe Swimming has announced the team that will participate at the South Africa National Junior Championships pencilled for Kingspark, Durban, from March 21-25, 2023.

The board chairperson, Zanele Nkomazana, said the team has left for South Africa in the morning ahead of the tournament.

“The 22-member Team of Zimbabwean swimmers from Harare and Bulawayo are en route to the SA National Junior Champions, Kingspark, Durban South Africa 21-25 March 2023.”

The manager is Stacy Bhana and the team and the coach is Phawulani Ngwenya.

“We are pleased to announce the team and support staff for the above championships.”

“The female team includes Accorsi Olivia, Chandiwana Tafadzwa, Chandiwana Tanatswa, Dawe Tori, Johnsen Alexis, Makwabarara Mikayla, Martell Charlotte, Musere Matida, Smyth Taya, Van As Anje, Viki Daniella and Warsfold Susie,” said Nkomazana.

On the other hand, the male team – acoording to Nkomazana comprises Fayayo Sibusiso, Guta Kyle, Jani Tawanda, Kalipengule Limbikani, Nkomazan Kwandokuhle, Siwela Josha, Vimba Khaya, and Watson Teak,” she said.

However, Kwandokuhle Nkomazana could not travel due to a fracture.

The team was selected at the recently-held Zimbabwe Junior National Swimming Championships hosted at Chisipite Senior School in Harare, where 181 junior swimmers representing their provinces from all over Zimbabwe in the penultimate gala of the 2023 junior season participated.
