A woman who gave birth to a baby girl in her room at Belvedere Teacher's College and hid her in a laundry dish was arrested for the crime afte her ex-husband found out and informed the police.
Therezia Makaka, 42, was before magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure at the Harare Magistrates' Court accused of infanticide.
The informant was Makaka's ex-husband, David Ngonidzaishe, aged 46.
The State through, prosecutor Zebediah Bofu, alleges that on May 13, 2023, at around 1330 hours, at Belvedere Teacher's College, Makaka gave birth to a baby girl in her bedroom alone.
She then wrapped the baby in a maroon cloth and hid it in the laundry dish.
The offence was realised by Ngonidzaishe who then made a police report.
Mashavakure remanded Makaka for bail application.
