The 12th man effecte expected to work in Chevrons' favour

Today is a momentous day for Zimbabwe Cricket, as the Super 6 match between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka takes place at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.

The sold-out stadium is expected to be filled to capacity, just like the attendance of 21,000 supporters registered at Harare Sports Club during the match against West Indies, as reported in the local media.

The 12th man effect is anticipated to be a game-changer in this crucial encounter, providing a significant boost for the Chevrons.

On this momentous occasion, the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union, Tapfumaneyi Vivian Banhire, is celebrating his 36th birthday, and he will proudly lead a group of over 100 fellow supporters from the Zimbabwe Cricket Supports Union who have travelled from Harare to witness the match.

The significance of this occasion lies in the fact that it is the first time that such a large group of supporters from the Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union has travelled to Bulawayo to support cricket.

According to the Chairman of Zimbabwe Cricket Supporters Union, he made his first trip to Bulawayo for Cricket in 2012, and their group typically consisted of 5 to 15 people traveling.

This event marks the start of a new and beautiful culture in the history of cricket in Zimbabwe, initiated by the Supporters Union. The Union has advised fellow supporters to wear red work suits and white helmets, the same attire worn during the famous win against West Indies. The red works suit symbolizes the hard work that needs to be done against Ski Lanka.

“Let’s paint Queens Sports Club red and the colours of Zimbabwe Cricket. The match started at 9 am, and fans from Harare are also gathered at Fans Park Harare Sports Club, where entry is free.
