A Borrowdale man, Clifford Saimon, who is alleged to have forged papers appointing himself to be a co-director of Chidziva Investment Private Limited, appeared before the Harare Magistrates' Courts charged with forgery.

The complainant in this matter is Theresa Evelyn Chidziva, 75, who owns Chidziva Investment Private Limited.

Theresa was the late Melchailor Gore Chidziva’s wife.

Her husband, Melchailor passed on in March 2023.

During Melchailor Gore Chidziva's life time, the couple had several companies, including Chidziva Investments Private Limited and Theresa was a co-director.

After the death of Melchailor, Theresa discovered that she had been removed from the directorship of Chidziva Investment Private Limited, causing her to make report the matter to the police.

Investigations revealed that on October 17, 2017, Clifford forged a document, in which he appointed himself as the co-director and company secretary of Chidziva Investments and removed Theresa, citing resignation as the nature of removal.

After having forged the document, Clifford signed it in the capacity of the secretary and tendered it to the Registrar of Companies.

After having made himself the co-director of Chidziva Investments Private Limited, Clifford went on to dispose residential stands in Chidziva Investments in Borrowdale, causing prejudice of US$110 000 to Chidziva Investment.

Clifford, who appeared in court coming from home, was ordered to appear in court on August 30.
