“Agripreneurship does not only focus on plant and animal production aspects. A lot of value chains surround agricultural world, for instance, technology and entertainment hence we need to think outside the box and work hand in hand to push the whole sector to greater heights,” says Farmfit Luxury wear founder, Rudolf Mabuya.
Having an in-depth knowledge about the specific goal in mind that is, developing and distributing innovative fashion wear for agriculturalists across Zimbabwe, Mabuya founded Farmfit Luxury wear for farmer.
The 28-year-old designer says he was inspired by international brands like Nike and Adidas to be innovative enough to create something special for farmers.
“Farmfit is a farming-inspired clothing brand emphasising urban designs that highlight the farmer’s playful and artistic side.
“With an increasing desire to differentiate, especially through attire, young affluent farmers are looking to brands that provide the same level of quality farm wear as the modern high-end brands l, but with designs that are not commonly found everywhere.
“I have seen big brands like Adidas, Nike and Puma in the sporting world but I haven’t seen something special for people in the Agricultural world yet farming is a special field.
“Being an Agronomist, I am invited to many farming events such as field days, shows, seminars and workshops. I see people from the corporate world dressing nicely in their company branded uniforms but, however farmers cannot do the same due to accessibility.
“This pushed me to create something which helps both the corporate and individual farmers to dress up for the occasions,” Mabuya says.
The Agronomist has managed to capture the eyes of many, not only individuals and corporates.
The brand is also getting international recognition as they are already exporting for individuals in the United States.
