Simba Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya wanted to join Simba Bhora with his backroom staff however the Club did not want to relieve Authur Tutani and Paul Chimalinzeni.
Tutani and Chimalinzeni guided the Shamva outfit from Division One last season.
DeMbare did not renew Ndiraya’s contract last season after he finished the season in third position.
Ndiraya accepted to work with Tutani, a CAF B licence holder but very successful in Division One business, and Chimalinzeni who, like Ndiraya, has a CAF A licence.
Despite spending huge fees on bringing experienced and big name players plus handsome perks for them, Simba Bhora’s struggles in the league are apparent.
They have won only three games at the 16-match peg.
Sources at Simba bhora told this publication that Ndiraya and Tutani never worked together very well as sometimes Ndiraya could call for training sessions without informing his deputies.
“Ndiraya and Tutani haven’t really trusted each other from day one, cold war has hitherto hindered progress in the team. At one point, Ndiraya would call for and conduct training sessions without Tutani’s knowledge,” a source told Zim Now Sports.
“They are players who are loyal to the latter and they would always tell him.
That created a widening gulf of mistrust between the two coaches.
Tutani was eventually forced to resign two weeks ago on the very day Simba Bhora posted their third win all season against Ngezi,” The source added.
Tutani is now with Division One club, Shamva Mine.
Ndiraya began life at Simba Bhora without Tutani for the first time last week in a match against ZPC Kariba.
Simba Bhora looked lost at Baobab and ZPC Kariba were very smart in their 2-1 victory against them.
Discordant echoes are getting louder by the day and Ndiraya is facing the exit door.
Although Simba Bhora chefs have decided to be patient, given their reduced targets this season, Ndiraya could eventually find himself being sacked if he fails to collect maximum points this weekend.
Simba Bhora play basement team Black Rhinos at Bata Stadium on Sunday.
