A man who removed roof sheets at Ajay Butchery in order to enter and steal has appeared in court.
Washington Munodzana, a.k.a. Tatenda Bindu, 18, appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Courts on allegations of unlawful entry.
The complainant in this matter is Aneesa Mohamed of Eastlea, who is employed by Ajay Butchery as accounts clerk.
The State alleges that on July 4, 2023 at around 1645 hours, Mohamed knocked off duty and closed windows and locked the doors before leaving for home.
During the same night Munodzana came up with a plan to steal from Mohamed and he went to Ajay Butchery shop located at number 68 Chinhoyi Street, Harare. He removed roof sheets in order to enter into the shop from where he stole 1 x Wifi router and US$105.
Munodzana was captured on CCTV stealing from the butchery.
Mohamed reported for duty on July, 5, 2023 at around 0700 hours and discovered that there were things which were not available and filed a report.
Detectives from CID Stores and Business, Harare, received the report and viewed the CCTV camera footage and identified Munodzana.
Investigations that were done led to the arrest of Munodzana who was questioned and voluntarily pointed out to the police how he had committed the crime.
As a result, Mohamed lost US$145 and nothing was recovered.
He was ordered to appear in court on August 1 for bail application.
