Nadia Nakai has spoken about her father for this first time in a podcast with Zingah on Choppin It With Budha T, finally laying to rest speculation about her paternity that has risen over the years as she always glorified her mother and kept mum on the other contributor to her genetic makeup.
“I actually met him recently, after 33 years. It was actually a good meeting, it was wholesome, it was nice I didn’t have like anger or anything because I feel like I lived a good life with my mom. She raised me well, so I don’t feel like Iwas loosing anything.”
She revealed that her father lives in Canada. It seems she connected with him as part of a journey to find herself which has taken her to Zimbabwe as she visits relatives.
The SA-based hip hop artist also explained why that she changed her Best International Flow category at the BET Awards from representing Zimbabwe to to South Africa because that is the country where she has her career.
