Talented musician Tawanda Mambo, widely known as Saintfloew, has checked into a South African drug rehabilitation facility.

The musician, who left Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon for South Africa, was reportedly helped by businessman Tinashe Mutarisi from destroying his career and life.

Drug addiction is a challenge several musicians across the globe have struggled with while some have even died from the vice.

Zimbabweans, including Saintfloew’s family in Chitungwiza have expressed appreciation to Mutarisi for the gesture with the musician’s mother, Ebenezer Mambo, thanking the businessman for rescuing her son.

It is not yet clear how long it will take the musician to go through the reform process but he promised to come back healthier and clean.

In Zimbabwe, drug addiction and the consumption of other dangerous substances have become serious issues with government establishing an inter-ministerial task force on drugs.

The police have also weighed in with a number of operations targeting drug users as well as dealers.
