ZEC Announces Draft Roadmap For Accreditation Of By-Elections Observers

 

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission of (ZEC) has called upon applicants for accreditation to observe by-elections set for October 20, 2022.

The accreditation of successful applicants shall be conducted between 8am and 4pm from October 17 to October 22, 2022 and it will be conducted at the following venues:

Ø  Matebeleland Province - Matobo ward 2 and Insiza Ward 4 at Windsor Park Bulawayo.

Ø  Manicaland Province - Mutare ward 18 at Nyamaruru Primary School and Muzokomba Primary school for Buhera ward 24.

Ø  Mashonaland Central - Guruve ward 4 at Chimufombo Primary School while

Ø  Midlands Province - Chirumhanzu ward 6 at Holy Cross Mission Takawira.

Observers and Media Accreditation Fees:

Local observers are expected to pay US$100 or equivalent at a prevailing bank rate, while observers within Africa are expected to pay the same amount.

Ø  Observers from foreign embassies in Zimbabwe - US$300.

Ø  Observers from outside the continent - US$400.

Ø  Zimbabwe media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZEC) and working in the country for foreign media houses- US$100.

Ø  Zimbabwean local media practitioners accredited with ZMC- US$10 or ZWL equivalent at prevailing bank rate.
