A man, who allegedly raped his 16-year-old girlfriend, has been taken to court.
Kudakwashe Kwenje, 26, of Belvedere, appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts accused of rape.
Kwenje was ordered to deposit US$100 bail and will appear in court on November 23, for possible allocation of his trial date.
The State alleges that on October 2, at around 1300 hours, the complainant went to Kwenje’s house and entered by jumping over the security fence using a ladder.
The complainant is a 16-year-old juvenile.
It is alleged that when she entered Kwenje’s room, he closed the door and pushed her onto the bed and went on top of her.
He allegedly removed his trousers and pant and the complainant's and raped her.
The State alleges that she tried to scream but he closed her mouth with his hand.
After the act, the complainant went out and jumped through the fence and when she got home she did not tell anyone about the matter.
It later came out on October 10, when the complainant made a police report.
