A man, who allegedly dragged 17-year-old mentally-ill complainant into a bush before raping her, has been denied bail.
Talkmore Maopa, 18, of Marlborough, appeared before magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa at the Harare Magistrates’ Courts on rape allegations.
He was ordered to apply for bail at the High Court.
The State, through prosecutor Lancelot Mutsokoti, alleges that on November 3, the complainant in this matter was coming from Alpis Farm together with her friend, her young brother aged five and her eight-year-old aunt.
It is alleged that she met Maopa, who grabbed her hand, dragged her into a bush near Thetford dam, caressed the complainant’s breast and raped her.
She later told her mother’s friend, leading to Maopa’s arrest.
