The driver of a Toyota Hilux lost control of his vehicle around 1945hrs on Christmas Day, resulting in the car veering off the road to the left where he ran over seven pedestrians before swerving to the right side where it rammed into a stationary Honda Fit.

The accident occurred at the 300km peg along the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Road.

According to the police β€œThe Honda Fit vehicle overturned once and landed on its roof. As a result, three people (two pedestrians and one passenger from the Honda Fit vehicle) died, while 13 others were injured.”

Meanwhile, two people died on the stop while two others died on the way to hospital when a motorist who was driving a Toyota Rav 4 at the 111km peg along the Nyazura-Chivhu Road on Saturday collided with a Hino truck. There were seven people on board the Toyota Rav 4.
