Hwedza Rural District Council CEO Mr Frederick Jongwe won a platinum award from Zimbabwe Chief Executive Officers' network at Meikles Hotel recently.

The award was in recognition of the best corporate communication and addressing customers' needs with efficiency.

"Having joined Hwedza rural District Council at the beginning of this year, 2023, many strategies and achievements were made in an effort to improve the fortunes of an ailing organisation,” said Mr Jongwe.

"Prior, Hwedza RDC was considered as one of the non-performing and problematic councils in Mashonaland East Province and  Zimbabwe at large, but it  took us less than 8 months to transform it into a powerhouse rural council in terms of deliverables to-date.

"Hwedza is back among the best well run councils in all the spheres because investors are stampeding to invest in Hwedza District, the investment destination of choice.

He thanked the people of Hwedza and the province for working as a team.

Mashonaland East Provincial Minister, Hon Apolonia Munzverengwi said the nation needs such people.

"Congratulations our CEO Jongwe, you are a pacesetter in our Mashonaland East province, this is what the Government's vision 2030 needs.

Hwedza District Administrator, Kenneth Shumba said there is need to emulate exemplary leadership.

"We must all learn and ask from winners, his award is an order for us to follow, ask and listen to his corporate business ethics," said Mr Shumba.

Hwedza District Health Officer Doctor Bandiki saluted Mr Jongwe as a responsive CEO.
