A Harare woman, who stabbed her husband, accusing him of favouring his child, has been taken to court.
Olliet Million, 37, of Eastview, appeared before magistrate Stanford Mambanje accused of attempted murder.
The complainant in this case is Tichafara Madzimure of Eastview.
She was ordered to deposit US$50 as bail and will appear in court on February 15 for a possible trial date.
The State, through prosecutor Anesu Chirenje, alleges that on January 15, 2024, at around 1400 hours, at house number 149 Phase 2 Eastview, Million sent her child to Madzimure’s workplace with his child, requesting for money to buy tomatoes.
It is alleged that Madzimure gave his child a sweet and this did not go well with Million who went to Madzimure’s workplace and accused Madzimure of not treating the children equally.
They went home to resolve the matter and Million grabbed Madzimure’s neck and he pushed her.
It is alleged that Million went on to take a kitchen knife and stabbed Madzimure twice on the side below the rib and neighbours came to his rescue.
As a result, Madzimure reported the case to the police, leading to Million’s arrest.
