Green Fuel are setting their sights on a top-eight finish in the upcoming Premier Soccer League season, marking a significant shift from their debut campaign’s 10th-place finish. After a season of learning and adapting, the club is determined to make waves in the top tier of Zimbabwean football.

To achieve this ambitious goal, Green Fuel has embarked on a strategic recruitment drive, bringing in seven new players to bolster their squad. Prominent additions include former Yadah forward Jerry Chipangura, experienced goalkeeper Nedrick Madera from Hwange, and the exciting young winger Tinotenda Meke, who previously dazzled for the now-relegated Cranborne Bullets.

The new signings have injected a wave of optimism into the Green Fuel camp. Goalkeeper Madera expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “It’s an amazing experience to be part of this youthful squad that has a lot of ambition. The goal is to improve from where we left last season because it's all about helping one another.”

Chipangura, the striker, echoed the sentiment, setting his sights even higher: “We are hoping to finish in the top four and to at least get a single cup. Our preparations are going well and with the coming on board of new players the team is now balanced.”

While coach Rodwell Dhlakama remained tight-lipped about some of the other incoming players, citing ongoing negotiations, he acknowledged the team’s progress: “As a new baby in the Premier League, we have learnt a lot to improve on how we should adapt and adjust to the demands of the PSL. We have addressed our squad weaknesses and all we can hope is for the best.”

Despite losing key players like goalkeeper David Bizaban to other clubs, Green Fuel’s proactive approach in the transfer market suggests a newfound determination to compete at the top end of the table. The blend of experienced players like Chipangura and Madera with the youthful exuberance of Meke and others creates an intriguing mix that could surprise many this season
