Ireland Dominate Lady Chevrons in Second T20I, Lead Series 2-0

The Zimbabwe women’s cricket team, the Lady Chevrons, witnessed their winless streak extend on Sunday as they fell to Ireland by 42 runs in the second T20I match of the ongoing five-match series. The defeat at Harare Sports Club leaves Ireland firmly in control, leading the series 2-0 after securing a 57-run victory in the opening encounter.

Irish dominance at the crease set the tone for the day, with young star Amy Hunter once again proving a thorn in the Lady Chevrons’ side. Following her series-high 101 runs on Friday, Hunter amassed another impressive 77 off 57 balls, propelling Ireland to a formidable total of 172 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs. Laura Delany was equally impactful, picking up a player-of-the-match performance with four key wickets for Ireland.

Zimbabwe’s batting once again faltered in the face of a strong Irish attack. Despite a valiant effort from Kellis Ndlovu, who scored 52 runs off 41 balls, the Lady Chevrons could only muster 130 runs for 8 wickets in their allotted overs, falling significantly short of the target.
