Deputy Minister Tongai Mnangagwa assault and drug dealing suspects have been arrested, police have confirmed.
The two, Antony Mwedziwendira, 30, and Jason Cepheus Kuziva, 25, are reported to have attacked the Deputy Minister and his aide over a parking dispute before fleeing the scene.
In a statement, national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said that the incident happened at the corner of 6th and Fife Avenue, where one of the suspects, Mwedziwendira attacked Mnangagwa, resulting in a police report being filed.
“Antony Mwedziwendira attacked the minister and his aide with open hands after a parking dispute,” Nyathi wrote in the X statement.
He further added that the vehicles, a BMW 5301 and a Mercedes Benz C240 that were left behind by the fleeing suspects led to the recovery of illegal drugs stashed in the vehicles.
“… recovering contraband of drugs which were stashed in the vehicles. The drugs recovered include, 93 rods of skunk dagga, 179 satchels dagga, 13 x 100mls Bron Cleer, 30n Pentra sidenafil pills…,” Nyathi added.
